It all started when...

I grew up in dogs, with my family breeding German Shepherds for over 20 years. I worked for a number of large German Shepherd breeding kennels over the years, allowing me to travel, while caring for dogs and raising litters of puppies, gaining experience with the German Shepherd breed.

I began breeding and showing my own dogs in 2007, under the kennel name of Sonoma. I purchased a country property in Jarvis, ON, in 2012, with lots of room for the dogs to run. My foundation bitch was the beautiful sable bitch Ch. Timberline's Mum Sayz Ima Keeper RN OFA H/E, aka "Keeper". My constant companion until she passed on at the age of 11 in 2015, Keeper was a wonderful dog, and a great ambassador for the breed. Her lovely temperament, obsession with "playing ball" and her beautiful breed type is stamped on the current generation of Sonoma German Shepherds (Keeper grandkids and great-grandkids).

Our kennel is currently made up of 6 German Shepherds (Sel. Ch. Addison, Ch. Emerson, MVX Sel Ch. Kricket, Ch. Weston, Ch. Huxley, and our young girl Rosie who we are showing now. We also have two long-haired Mini Dachshunds, we show and breed as well. We frequently travel for dog shows, showing both our Shepherds, and our Dachshunds. We also have a cat, and several chickens (its a regular barnyard around here...). In my day job, I'm a Team Lead for a title insurance company. My partner, Ken, is a skilled Carpenter/Cabinet Maker. We have two young daughters.

Our dogs are all house trained, and take turns in our home, as well as our outdoor kennels. We have a large property with lots of room for the dogs to run and a newly built 1000 sq ft kennel building. We frequently take the dogs jogging, and walking with us, they are good running buddies. In the summer we love boating, and outdoor sports and the dogs are always invited along.
